Ford Sub Amp Wiring Diagram
How to Run Amp Wires in a Nissan Titan
by Jule Pamplin
The Nissan Titan's factory stereo system can be amplified or connected to an aftermarket powered subwoofer. For each project, you will need to first connect the amplifier wiring kit and run the amp wires to the location of the aftermarket component. You can choose to have the wires installed by a professional, but to save cost, connect the amplifier wiring kit and run the amp wires yourself.
Step 1
LIft the Titan's hood and loosen each of the bolts holding the battery cables to their respective battery terminals with a wrench. Lift the negative battery cable clamp from the negative battery terminal and set it aside.
Step 2
Remove the positive battery cable clamp from the positive terminal. Place the ring terminal from the amp wiring kit onto the positive battery terminal post. Place the positive battery cable clamp back onto the terminal on top of the ring terminal. Tighten the bolt on the positive battery cable's clamp with the wrench.
Step 3
Remove the fuse from the ring terminal's fuse holder and keep it readily available for reinsertion after the amp has been installed. Plug the amplifier wiring kit power supply cable into the ring terminal.
Step 4
Feed the power supply cable through the Nissan's firewall and into the passenger cabin. The opening in the firewall for electrical wiring is located on the right side of the Titan's engine compartment. Move to the inside of the truck's cabin.
Step 5
Pry the stereo assembly panel from the Nissan's dashboard with a trim panel removal tool. Wrap the blade of the panel tool with a thin cloth to avoid scratching the surrounding dashboard panels. Pull the panel from the dashboard and disconnect the climate control wiring connectors from the outlets on the back of the panel.
Step 6
Remove the two screws on either side of the factory stereo with a Philips-head screwdriver. Slide the stereo from the dashboard stereo mounting dock and disconnect the stereo wiring connectors from the outlets on the back of the unit.
Step 7
Plug the stereo wiring connectors into the wiring harness adapter leads. Plug the wiring harness adapter lead connectors into the outlets on the back of the factory stereo. Plug the patch cables into the wiring harness adapter leads. Consult the wiring harness manual or follow the color-code on the adapter for patch cable connection locations.
Step 8
Feed the patch cables through the back of the Titan's stereo dock and down to the floor on the passenger's side of the truck.
Step 9
Slide the factory stereo back into the dock and replace the two screws on either side of the unit. Place the stereo assembly panel near the dashboard and reconnect the climate control wiring to the outlets on the back of the panel. Press the panel against the dashboard until it snaps back into place.
Route the power supply cable and the patch cables along opposite sides of the truck to the location of the amplifier or powered subwoofer to avoid signal interference.
